THE RESULTS ARE IN!
..and it’s Hart’s year! The fine dining restaurant at the top of Standard Hill has stolen the Nottingham Restaurant of the Year crown back from World Service, who have dominated this event, winning four years out of six.
Hart’s had an excellent evening winning not only the ultimate accolade but also Best Business Lunch Venue, sponsored by Berryman.
Nottinghamshires best and most popular restaurants, as voted for by the public during the month of April (with a record number of votes this year- 42,052 in total) were then forwarded to independent judging panels – representatives from The Telegraph, The Times, BBC Good Food Magazine, Alastair Sawday's Pubs & Inns Guide, Pub Chef, vegbox-recipes.co.uk, Olive Magazine, Restaurant Magazine and the Which? Good Food Guide. These judges visited the top three nomineed venues anonymously during May to decide who the ultimate winners would be - see 2008 Winners Page for full details.
Elizabeth Carter, Consultant Editor of The Good Food Guide commented..
'Don't let anyone tell you that you can't eat well outside London. After a few years of judging, I can think of a number of Nottinghamshire restaurants that could hold their own with many in the capital. It's a privilege to be able to come and judge the Nottingham Restaurant awards, to see the enthusiasm, professionalism and wonderful produce on offer in the various restaurants. It gets better every year.'
So another great year for the Nottingham Restaurant Awards and for all who participated.
