The Best Waiter/Waitress Award, sponsored by Young & Pearce Solicitors, was a new award introduced in 2007, designed to encourage and inspire people within Nottinghamshire's restaurant industry and to help encourage front of house as a well-respected profession.
The award is mentored by Amanda Bains from Nottingham’s only Michelin starred venue, Restaurant Sat Bains.
Any restaurant can nominate up to two people for this award, the only stipulation is that the individual works in the industry full time.
The criteria for judging ncludes –
- Preparation – mise en place
- Food and beverage knowledge
- Serving flair
- Professionalism
- Guest rapport & interaction
The final, with the best three applicants going head to head at The Adams Restaurant, New College Nottingham, took place on the 18th May. All three finalists are to attend the Awards Ceremony on the 17th June where the winner will be announced and they will collect their award from Partner, Richard Bates.
