One of the truly aspirational categories of the Nottingham Restaurant Awards is without doubt, Young Chef of the Year, sponsored by New College Nottingham’s Academy of Hospitality & Catering CoVE (centre of vocational excellence). 

With a record number of entries this year, the prelimary rounds have now taken place and the four finalists have been chosen.

We congratulate each and every talented young chef who applied, but particular congratulations go to;

Dan Lawrence and Nichola Thompson of the Larwood and Voce AND Daniel Cartledge and Farrel Hirsch of Tonic.

This year's final will take place on the morning of the 2nd June at the Adams Restaurant, New College Nottingham.  Friends and supporters of the finalists are welcome to come and cheer on their favourite.

The winner will be announced on the day and be invited to collect his or her award at the Nottingham Restaurant Awards Ceremony to be held on Wednesday 11th June 2008.

The winner will also collect an MMP 170 combi blender, courtesy of robot coupe.





Rules:

  • Entrants must be between 19 and 22 years and working in a commercial kitchen, whether it be full-time or part-time.
  • Restaurants may submit up to a maximum of two individual entries per venue.
  • Entries must be received by Big Table PR Limited by the specified date.
  • Judges decision is final at any stage of the competiton and will be adhered to.
  • The judges decision remains final at all stages of the competition.
