Another bumper year..

Voting for the 2009 Nottingham Restaurant Awards, sponsored by The Wilson Organisation (Wilsons), has now concluded and it was another bumper year.  Nearly 40,000 votes were cast as people put their vote where their tastebuds are!

With the independent judges now taking their turn, attention turns to the voting prize winner who, this year, will be jetting off, courtesy of Nottingham company, Jet Black Air, with three of her friends or family to enjoy an incredible lunch at the Jamie Oliver inspired restaurant, Fifteen Cornwall.  In their very own private, luxury jet, they can expect to enjoy some of best sun, sea and sand the UK has to offer, but that’s all for afters as first on the menu is a three course lunch at the restaurant made famous by one of the UK’s leading celebrity chef’s.

The winner is... Suzanne Hopkin from Keyworth.  When telephoned, Suzanne said “is this for real?”  after some convincing, she realised it was!  “That’s fantastic, all I need to decide now is who to take with me!”  The feeling is that Suzanne might be extremely popular.  Many congratulations to her!

Suzanne will be jetting off to enjoy her prize at a date to suit during September 2009.

Jocelyn Platt from organisers, Big Table PR, commented “We were keen to deliver a prize that would not only capture people’s imagination but was in keeping with the overall restaurant theme.  We also wanted to encourage people to look – perhaps again – at enjoying what Britain has to offer, and Cornwall’s ideal for that.”  She adds “We’re also extremely grateful to Jet Black Air who have, once again, agreed to deliver a mode of transport that will ensure that this prize is enjoyed to its fullest.”

And whilst Suzanne luxuriates in the knowledge of a day to remember on the horizon, the restaurants anxiously await the final verdict.

All of the nominees and winners will then be announced at the awards ceremony to be held on the 17th June at Colwick Hall, again, to be hosted by television personality, Mark Durden-Smith who has now made this event his own!.
